San Rafael Farm: An Oasis

On our last day in Tacloban before heading to the airport for our 4:30PM flight  back to Manila, our gracious hosts, Gerry & Ludette Ruiz, together with their vivacious daughter Nani (family owners of Leyte Gulf Travel & Tours), treated us to a sumptuous lunch at the San Rafael Farm & Restaurant located about 30 minutes away from downtown Tacloban.  It is located in the hilly area of  Babatngon in Leyte.

After a short walk from the entrance, you are greeted with this pond.

This is the main restaurant - with great views from all sides.

San Rafael Farm is more of a park rather than an actual farm – the wide open green spaces, beautifully landscaped by the owners,  are so inviting and picture-perfect.  No wonder this place has been, of late, a favorite venue for wedding receptions for Leyte couples.  The place is simply so romantic!

Wooden park benches to laze around while waiting for your orders to arrive.

There are plans to put up cottages within the farm so guests can stay overnight or even longer, and enjoy what the farm has to offer. Or just prabably meditate in any one of the pocket gardens all over the place.

Serenity all around

Oh, I forgot about the FOOD… it was so good. But my wife would have to make a separate blog about that here.

She said: "Perfect!"
