Sunset Over Bagan

      We have seen fantastic photographs capturing the golden sunset across the Bagan plains with the ancient temples in the background. It was simply beautiful for words.

At 5:30PM, the setting sun was still hiding behind thick clouds ...

      So we requested our driver to bring us to the best vantage point where we can capture the same scene.  He brought us to temple at around 5:30 pm, just in time to catch the sun setting across the mighty river … unfortunately, we were not that fortunate.  It was a very cloudy day and the sun made a brief peek before it finally decided to hide behind the thick clouds across the horizon.

We were not the only ones who climbed up this temple ...

     But the exhilirating experience of  being on top of one of the temples in Bagan, with an incredible view of the vast plains of Bagan and the ancient temples … while watching the sky turn dark … it was unforgetable.

      Sunset over Bagan, maybe another day?

We would climb up the same temple again, if only to witness Bagan's famous sunset.
